The Beginning

On December 17th, we began our second trip down the road to having a family. After two weeks of horomone injections and many other drugs that I have already forgotten, it was retrieval day.

December 20th, Penny and I were back at New Hope Center for the transfer.  Due to this being our last chance for a family, we chose to transfer all three thawed embryos.

Then began the long two week wait before the pregnancy test.  Thankfully, this was over the holidays so this allowed us to stay busy as we were traveling to Uniontown.  Penny had been complaining about a pain in her calf for a few days and by Christmas Eve, it had gotten to where she was limping so I finally convinced her to go to the emergency room as I was concerned she had a blood clot.  Since it was such a small town hospital, all they could do that late on a holiday was blood work, and it came back elevated, so we were back there Christmas morning for an ultrasound.
Thankfully, it turned out to be nothing but a pulled muscle!

On January 2, Penny went in for the blood test (of course she had already done the at home test for quite a few days) and later that night we got the phone call that we had been waiting all day.  Ms. Willa called and you could hear her smile in her voice.  We were once again pregnant!

On January 19th, at 6 weeks and 5 days, Amy (our ultrasound tech) and new found friend started our first "pregnant" ultrasound.  As soon as she started, she tells us she sees two sacs.  Of course, I'm already crying telling Penny, "I told you so!"  Then I hear Amy say, 'Wait, there's a third sac!"  And so begins our life and journey preparing to be the parents of triplets!

On January 26th, at 7 weeks and 5 days, we received our first picture of our little ones!

At 8 weeks and 6 days:
And at 9 weeks 6 days:
By now, they are being very active and we can see them all moving their arms and legs.  And Penny is already having trouble fitting into her uniform and all her clothes.  In fact, she only has a few things that fits, but she is being stubborn about moving into maternity clothes.
